As Chef de l’Atelier, Franziska Moergeli’s role is to work out concepts of offer and restoration in accordance with the client’s request. Targeting for highest demands, she accomplishes sophisticated restoration work and leads the collaborative process with the client for acoustical balance and fine-tunes down to the last tonal adjustments for every unique instrument.
Franziska Moergeli has practised restoration, evaluation and appraisement for nearly three decades, mainly in Switzerland. After having attended the Academy of Fine Arts, Franziska Moergeli graduated in 1991 from the violin-making school of Brienz, BE, in Switzerland, and joined the team of Geigenbau Machold Zurich as a restorer, where as head of the workshop she became responsible for sales, as well as for several major restoration projects. In 2000, Franziska Moergeli established her own atelier for restoration and expertise in Rüschlikon/Zurich. In 2012, as part of a fresh alignment of her activities, she made her debut as Franziska Moergeli • Fine Instruments.
